Dressing for Karvachauth

Dressing for Karvachauth

Karva Chauth is a popular Indian festival. On the day of Karva Chauth, the wives pray for the long life of their husbands. They wake up before sunrise, have sargi and stay without water to pray for their husband’s long life.

So does it feel exciting that the festival is around the corner? Amongst the excitement, one worry or question could be – what am I wearing for the special festive day?  You want to look your best, but you don’t want to overdo things too… if that sounds like you, then we have here a style guide for you which ranges from minimalistic to OTT look! Go for whichever you fancy!

Sarees – The nine yards of bliss never fail for any occasion. Saree brings elegance and style – both. Every Indian girl has atleast a few sarees in her collection. So if you are thinking you have that beautiful saree lying in closet since long, take it out and wear it for Karvachauth! Match it with some nice ethnic jewellery and you are set for the day.

Indo Western – A fusion outfit like a jacket lehenga or jacket Anarkali suit could be your Karvachauth minimalistic yet special dress during the festivities and pooja of the day.You can play with dark and light colours, embroideries and prints. Match the outfit with some funky accessories and you are ready to go!

Salwar/Sharara Suits – The younger lot, the workaholics, and the ones who shy away from elaborate dressing may find the saree or lehenga look a bit stressful. And while being ornately dressed may be a norm for the day, you can always deviate with minimalism. A sharara or a salwar kameez will have you festive-ready within minutes. Simple accessories like a pair of loop earrings and a matching necklace are apt to complete your on-the-go festive look!

Lehengas – Lehengas is an all time, evergreen choice of most of the women! Lehengas are as rich as a saree and also easier to carry on through the day and night while you are waiting for the moon to show up! These days lehengas come in so many colours, styles, fabrics.. you are really spoilt for choice. So slip in a beautiful lehenga and beam in his eyes as you see him through the sieve in the light of the moon!

And if you still think there is not enough of choice in your wardrode, we are always there to help you with shopping from our collections!
